MAAC is a private, non-profit social service agency operating a Child Development Program (CDP) that consists of federally funded Head Start and Early Head Start programs, as well as California state funded preschool programs across San Diego’s North and South County for eligible families with children from birth to five years of age (0-5). MAAC offers a range of program options to deliver the highest quality child and family support services possible

Learning how to read is one of the most important skills children develop. Providing them with necessary tools is imperative if we wish to create lifelong learners. Not only do children need to learn how to identify and use various letters to read increasingly complex texts, but they must also develop a rich vocabulary, make inferences, comprehend various genres, and express themselves through speaking and writing.

We are committed to making child care accessible to all. Several agencies in San Diego County, like the Y and Child Development Associates, can help fully or partially pay for child care or day camp. Eligibility is based on monthly gross income, family size and need.
